Powers live action exclusive to PSN

Cover of "Powers Vol. 1: Who Killed Retro...

 Powers

The live action adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis’s brilliant ‘Powers’ comic book series has been announced as arriving onto our screens this December and I couldn’t be more excited. The comic book has been running since 2000 and moved to Marvel comics imprints in 2004 and has always been a huge fan favourite, not too mention has always had the same creative team of Brian Michael Bendis on writing duties and Michael Avon Oming providing the artwork.

The big shock with the show- is that’s been announced as a PSN exclusive- meaning Sony has got their hands on the series (we already knew this) but will make it their first streaming show. The first episode will be available to everyone with a PSN account for free- while the weekly shows after this will only be available free for those with an existing Playstation Plus membership for free- I knew there was a bonus to me having one of these things!

The big question is whether this will pay off for Sony in the long run, putting a superhero show on a small(ish) platform but either way im excited to get to see this show go live.

The official synopsis for powers is as follows: Combining the genres of superhero fantasy, crime noir and the police procedural, the series follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, who are referred to colloquially as “powers”.
