Comic Book Picks 14th June ’17

-1x-1

Wednesday is nearly here again, and that means it’s time for a host of new comic book releases. And were getting straight into it with my top picks for this week, right now!

American Gods: Shadows #4

Official Synopsis: During an overnight stay at their home, Shadow awakens to a visit from the third of the Zorya sisters: Zorya Polunochnaya. The Midnight Sister’s advice is ethereal and strange, yet vital . . . and Shadow can’t seem to separate reality from the dream world

Why it’s a Pick: American Gods has been following the book brilliantly, and when the source material is so good as Gaiman’s original novel there’s no reason to deviate or too not be on board with this. The artwork has been fabulous for a title of this nature and with the story about to get really weird this is the time to be getting into this title right here.

Star Wars #32

NWSTRWR32

Official Synopsis: “THE SCREAMING CITADEL” – Part 4
• The Queen’s influence is spreading…
• Our only hope lies in the kindness of scoundrels.

Why it’s a Pick: Screaming Citadel has been a very good story and seeing Aphra and Luke together along with the addition of Han and Leia last issue was brilliant! I’m excited to see where this takes us, as the citadel guards seem massively overpowered compared to our favourite heroes and scoundrels, but can an enhanced Krrsantan turn the tides for the rebellion. This has been so good, that there really is no way it will slow down or drop now!

Dark Days: The Forge #1

Official Synopsis: Darkness comes to the DC universe with the mystery of The Forge! Aquaman, The Flash and more of DC’s pantheon of heroes suspect Batman of hiding a dark secret that could threaten the very existence of the multiverse! It’s an epic that will span generations — but how does it connect to the origins of one of DC’s most legendary heroes?

Why its’s a Pick: I’m not one for huge multiple title crossovers, I honestly feel they come too often now- however this has me intrigued after the recent ‘Button’ issues. Batman is DC’s biggest draw and a new story-line that looks to loom over the entire DCU can only be exciting.

Book of the Week

NWSTRWR32

Star Wars: Screaming Citadel has been too good to not have this at the top of the must read pile- this book is absolutely on fire right now!
