Wednesday is nearly here, and it will be the first one in my new home (Excited), but more importantly it means there’s a host of new comic books hitting the shelves very soon. And lets take a look at the top titles that you need to be considering this week.

Batman #20

Official Synopsis: “I am Bane” finale! In this epic climax, there is no going back. No more tricks, no more allies. Just Batman. And Bane. When the final blood spills…nothing will ever be the same for the Dark Knight.

Why it’s a Pick: This story-line with Bane has been amazing, It reminds me ‘Breaking the Bat’ and that is only high praise. Tim King has been doing great work, and the finale of this run seems set to be just as good with the promise of everlasting change for the Dark Knight.

Star Wars #30

Official Synopsis: * It seems a battle from Yoda’s past has come to Luke’s present!
* Luke has stumbled upon the last native on the planet…
* …and the stonepower is strong with this one!

Why it’s a Pick: Star Wars has been amazing since Marvel took the the helm and have decided to fill in the story between the original trilogy gaps. Dark Horse did a great job before this but this seems to really capture the feel of the original movies, despite this particular story being a little slow. I’m excited to see how it ends with Luke taking on the young outcast trained by Yoda- this could be a very good showdown full of excitement and action.

X-men Gold #1

Official Synopsis: From the ashes of Inhumans vs X-Men, an all-new team of X-Men Rises! Xavier’s dream comes full circle as Kitty Pryde takes the reins and assembles a squad of the most iconic X-Men to fight at her side. Storm. Colossus. Nightcrawler. Old Man Logan. Prestige. They are X-Men Gold! And they’re on a mission to be Earth’s finest heroes, even when that means defending those who hate and fear them.

Why It’s a Pick: X-men have always been my favourite superhero team, and that isn’t going to change despite the lack of focus Marvel have put on them recently and with the number of relaunches lets hope they can shift that focus back to one of the best branches of their universe. This team looks the most like the one I feel in love with originally, hence the reason its the top pick from the new books. So get on board with everyone’s favourite mutants now before its too late.

Book of the Week

16BAT20

This issue should be amazing- I’m really looking forward to seeing which one of these two can come out on top and how it all plays out!
