This weeks comic books are only a matter of hours away now, and with so many books hitting the shelves it should be a good week. Good weeks mean lots too choose from, and here are my top picks for this weeks releases
All Star Batman #2
Official Synopsis: “My Own Worst Enemy” part 2! All aboard the train ride from hell! Batman and Two-Face continue their journey to Harvey Dent’s cure through an assassin-infested landscape. But can the Dark Knight continue his crusade across the countryside when Two Face turns one of his greatest allies against him?
Why it’s a Pick: The first issue of this series was brilliant, and featured a new take on the world of Batman- and that is something that rarely occurs. Snyder has done a brilliant job of making Two face a real threat and giving the book a genuine sense of suspense and intrigue as Batman moves through town being hunted by everyone. This should be an amazing read, and is top of my pile this week.
Official Synopsis: “LIGHTNING STRIKES TWICE” part 6! You’ve seen glimpses of him. You’ve witnessed the carnage he’s unleashed on Central City. Now meet Godspeed, the super-speed serial killer who murders speedsters and steals their powers. Barry Allen is going to need help!
Why its a Pick: This book has been on fire since the re-launch as part of ‘RE-birth’ and has given us some great character development with both Barry and Wally so far, and that’s before we even mention the additional characters being added to the book to go agaisn’t the big threat this week in the form of Godspeed. This book is everything comic books should be- fun, exciting, full of amazing art and the story is well timed.
Harrow County #16
Official Synopsis: Emmy is faced with a decision: will she join the mysterious coven that claims to be her family? If she goes with them and leaves Harrow County, everything she’s ever known will be destroyed. But if she denies this powerful family and stays to protect her home, she will make enemies out of the most powerful beings she’s ever encountered.
Why it’s a Pick: This book is one of the best released each and every month and delivers a brilliant tale each time, and the recent addition of more supernatural Gods/Monsters to the book has given a push towards a much larger tale than the original small town haunting. This issue should be so good, I’m really intrigued to see if Emmy will go with the others or stay and raise the consequences and threat level for her beloved town. Either way this book should only improve from here and that’s a big task given its already high standards.
