Wednesday is nearly here again, and that means its once more time for me to get my teeth into a host of new books. So without any delay lets take a look at whats worth your hard earned money this week.
All New, All Different Avengers #6
Official Synopsis: The villain pulling the Avengers’ strings stands revealed – someone who’s been a part of Avengers history for almost all of the team’s existence, in a way you’ve never seen them before! The All-New, All-Different Avengers’ first story arc ends here – and you won’t guess who’s left standing on the last page.
Why its a Pick: So far this has been a really good read, and the way the creative team have been handling the Vision has been superb. I cant remeber seeing the Vision being so openly devious and tearing a team apart like this before, and given the fact the team is new and unprepared its had some major impacts. Lets hope this can continue to be delivered here as we move towards Kang!
Fight Club #9
Official Synopsis: Tyler’s minions stow all the world’s treasures before they trigger Armageddon–or as they call it, the Tranquility Gambit. Sebastian is forced to battle his own son as he and Marla rekindle their love. But once their family is reunited, they’re all buried alive in a huge salt cavern! Things are looking grim for everyone.
Why its a Pick: This has been a really good follow on to the orignal novel, and has delivered alot more than I expected. So far the story has kept me engaged and seeing Tyler almost take full control has been exciting- hope the creative team can keep this book moving forward and delivering the entertaining narrative that it has been so far. Either way this book needs to be checked out.
Dark Knight III: The Master Race #3
Official Synopsis: The hardest thing for Batman is to admit his greatest strength: He’s just one man, and sometimes he needs help. With so much at stake, will he turn to help of the Super variety?
Why its a Pick: So far the story hasnt done anything genre breaking or completely new, but it has been a very welcome return to the brilliantly dark world that Millar create decades ago. The artwork has been brilliant, and the backup story has alos been interesting so far, I’m excited to see were this goes and how it finally pulls all the little pieces we’ve seen so far together. But overall this book is here because seeing Millar back in this universe is a true must for anyone who has read and loved the original.
Book of the Week
This is the book for me this week, I havent been more interested in the Vision ever- and the dynamics that Mark Waid has sewn into the team book thus far. If you like your superhero comics this has to be the biggest team book of the week.
