WWE Fastlane 2016 Predictions

WWE presents their last PPV before WrestleMania this evening, and unlike in recent years it appears that the card could truly be more than just a hold over until next month with some good looking match-ups. Having said this its the triple threat main event that holds the most promise as the winner main events Wrestlemania as the challenge HHH for the Wolrd Heavyweight Championship. So lets get to my predictions for each match

Here is the card for the evening;
Kalisto Vs. Alberto Del Rio (US Championship)
AJ Styles Vs. Chris Jericho
Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks Vs. Team Bad
Wyatt family Vs. Kane, Ryback & Big Show
Charlotte Vs. Brie Bella (Divas Championship)
Kevin Owens Vs. Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Title)
Dean Ambrose Vs. Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar

Kalisto Vs. ADR
This match has had some odd build, as it all looked good when these two met several times in single competition but since Kalisto won the title back theyve only met in tag team matches and 6man matches which has harbered the time these two have genuinely met in ring. Im not expecting great things from these two, but it should be entertaining as Kalisto has an exciting offense and ADR can deliver if he has a good night. I really feel like the WWE are currently looking for Kalisto to fill the long vacant Mysterio role so dont expect him to be losing here.
Winner: First title defense of the evening Kalisto

AJ Styles Vs. Chris Jericho
The build to this has been solid, weve got to see AJ looking good and delivering some solid in ring action, hes been built like the star he is and this is only going to continue here. Jericho has delivered some great mic and character work since his return and seems to work well with AJ despite being a step behind and causing a slight slow down from AJs normal style, the two definitely have chemistry in the ring. Their first two bouts have been good, butnhave saved enough for this one to be the potentially best of the bunch.
Winner: AJ Styles

Becky & Sasha Vs. Team Bad
This could be an exciting match and should help build to the Womens main event of WrestleMania, as im fully expecting the team of Becky and Sasha to implode her after a hsrd fought victory. It was good to see the WWE finally recognise that Sasha is better off on her own being a legit boss, than as part of a team and its nice to see Becky get a chance to shine. Watching these two future challengers for the title team up should provide some great wrestling especially with Naomi on the other team, but im fully expecting a Sasha Banks turns on Becky moment just like the legit Boss has done before and will do again to gain an advantage for herself.
Winner: Becky and Sasha moving forward to face Charlotte at Mania

Wyatts Vs. Big Show, Kane & Ryback

The Wyatts should be built like the monsters they are every year between Survivor Series and Wrestlemania permanently as there act is great and Bray&Harper are great in ring workers. However that said Rowan has improved and Strauman isnt bad for a big guy whos relatively new on the scene and if stories are to be believed is ready for a push and i think that starts tonight properly. The opposition has no reason to win or anything to gain from a victory and im assuming this builds to Strauman winning at Mania and a feud for Bray and the Wyatts with the WWE’s real titan. Either way the titans will fall today and the buzzards will destroy.
Winner: Wyatt family easily

Charlotte Vs. Brie Bella (Divas Championship)

Charlotte has been great since turning heel, but unfortunately Brie has been useless for ever and completely unused since Nikki got injured so this match feels like the WWE are using the recent Bryan press to push Brie into a holding match with Charlotte until the champion takes on her fellow NXT allumny at WrestleMania. The build hasnt been that bad for the match, and Smackdown had a decent showdown between the two but the massive gulf in ring ability means there can only be one real outcome here, and that the match most likely wont be too exciting.

Kevin Owens Vs. Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship)
Raw was a real surprise as the WWE made the right move taking the belt of Ambrose if they want us to believe he has a chance in the main event, and no-one on the roster is more fitting to elevate the title than Owens. His feud with Ambrose for the gold was great and he has been on a real role recently showing why hes a fan favourite despite being a heel, and watching himmand Ziggler go one more time with a meaning should be fun. These two have some real chemistry and Ziggler is great in the ring so this could be one of the better matches of the evening. Expect these two to try and steal the show before the show off gets shown up woth a pop-up powerbomb.
Winner: Retain Owens Retain

Dean Ambrose Vs. Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnsar

This is an interesting one to call, as everyone knows that the company has been building Reigns for iver 12months to be the man so it seems logical that he wins here and moves on to beat HHH for the title at WrestleMania. However Ambrose and Lesnar are far more popular with the fans and a Roman win would surely lead to him being booed to death inside the arena and make HHHH the face of the match at Mania without that being the intention, which means if Reigns isnto win he has to turn on Ambrose to capitalise and steal the victory. While Brock should ideally be a sure win here, i sense his Wrestlemania bout will be with the Wyatts as hes the true titan here, so while the beast will take everyone to suplex city expect the Wyatts to interfere and cost Brock his spot in some way. But could Bray also cost Reigns as we know he wants anyone but him still, leaving only Ambrose to take the victory? While Ambrose would be the booking decision id make; hes great in the ring, his character has improved, his recent promo work has been solid and he is a huge fan favourite unfortunately hes the least likely option here unless the WWE really want a true bait and switch moment. With this aside the company are unlikely to change their kind here, and while Ambrose will take a true licking and keep on kicking when it comes down the stetch expect Ambrose to be taken out by an F5 on the outside before Reigns goes to suplex city, only to captilise on a cocky jigging and laughing Leansr woth a few spears to book his place in Wrestlemania history next month. Hey I dont like that anymore than you but its the most likely outcome.
Winner: Roman Reigns
