Wednesday is nearly here, and this week sees a huge amount of top titles released by not only the big two publishers but everyone, making it a difficult week to decide what to recommend; however despite that here are my picks for the week.
Official Synopsis: It is time. Bruce Wayne has reclaimed his true past as Batman. Now he must descend into the cave and face what he once was. Can he truly leave behind a life free from the pain and anguish of the Bat? Can he plunge once more into the madness and purpose that once consumed him? In this special, thrilling issue, watch as the fate of Bruce Wayne, and Batman, is decided once and for all.
Why its a Pick: Scott Snyder has done an amazing job since he took the reigns with Batman, and I’ll be said to see him leave; however until he does we are currently in the midst of a great tale around Bruce Wayne finding his way back to being Batman to take down the awesomely new ‘Mr Bloom.’ I’m excited to see how Alfred and Bruce handle the reformation of the original Batman, and how Mr Bloom responds to his return too. This should be an exciting issue, and Im really looking forward to getting my hands on it.
Harrow County #9
Official Synopsis: Emmy knows the Skinless Boy simply as her silent and grisly protector, but the mysteries of his life and afterlife run much deeper than the powerful young witch could ever know. Now, briefly reunited with his disembodied tattered skin, the Skinless Boy explores the secrets of his lost past.
Why its a Pick: Harrow County was the best new book of 2015, without question in my opinion and Cullen Bunn has done a great job of creating an amazing new world full of engrossing stories and characters, and the fact that this issue promises to look at the back story of the ‘Skinless Boy’ (a totally great character) it should be both entertaining, harrowing and exciting at the same time. You really should not miss a single issue of this book.
Black Science #20
Official Synopsis: “Godworld”: Part 4-The last Dimensionaut returns to save the Eververse.
Why its a Pick: Black Science is one of the best Sci-Fi books out there, and Remender has kept it fresh with every new tale- and the most recent tale explores the survival and tests of Grant McKay in the search to find out where he is, whats happened, and how to save his family and entire existence? These are huge questions and so far the answers have been slim but amazingly well put together and displayed- this should definitely be a book you check out. The only downside is that this probably isnt a good jumping on point, but you really shiuld check out all the other issues too.
Book of the week
Harrow County steals the show this week, the tease that we could find out the tale of the ‘Skinless Boy’ has me excited- there has always been more to him than meets the eye and the chance to find out how he lost his skin and continues to exist has me excited.
