WWE has its yearly TLC PPV taking place this evening, and to be honest its the worst looking and most poorly built show of the year which isnt good. However my excitement level is always low for a traditionally hardcore event in the PG era, but this years thin roster and badly booked wrestlers has this card looking worse than normal. That aside here are my picks for the show.
This years card is as follows;
Ryback vs. Rusev
WWE Divas Championship Charlotte (c) vs. Paige
WWE United States Championship – Chair Match Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Jack Swagger
Tables Elimination Match The Wyatt Family vs. The Dudley Boyz, Rhino and Tommy Dreamer
WWE Tag Team Championship – Ladder Match The New Day (c) vs. The Usos vs. The Lucha Dragons
WWE Intercontinental Championship Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
WWE World Heavyweight Championship – TLC Match Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Here are my picks
Ryback Vs Rusev
This match couldnt make less sense if the creative team tried, as its all built around Ryback potentially hurting Lana who turned heel again for no reason. Then Rusev had to cheat to get revenge so we get this match. Adding Rusev to the League of Nations hasnt done him or anyone else any favours but he should still be better built than Ryback right now
Charlotte Vs Paige
This is one of the better built matches on the card, but for some reason the WWE still wont allow the women to worm a stipulation match when the clearer could and potentially put on a better show than the men. That being said Charlottes turn to heel this week was odd as Paige is a good heel, and having her be the dirtiest women in the game for no reasonnis odd booking. Despite this, I have faith that based on theri previous matches this should be good
Del Rio Vs Swagger
Swagger must think his luck has turned being back on tv and straight into a US Title shot, while Del Rio has lost all the momentum he gained from his return at this point due to the odd pairing with (Grinder loving) Colter and the addition to the League of Nations. This could have been a good feud if it was built correctly but its been rushed and marred by poor storytelling.
Winner: Del Rio despite a Coulter and Swagger team
Wyatt Family Vs ECW Originals
Why the WWE who has a locker room full of talent thought Tommy Dreamer was the man to add to this feud is beyond me, but thats what we have now so lets roll with it. That aside the Wyatts have been well built aince the Brothers of Destruction debacle but really need a big win to be taken seriously as theres only so many times Wyatt can save himself with stellar ring work and great mic work. The ECW crew would loose nothing with a loss here, while the Wyatts would finally be killed for the foreseeable future so surely this match only goes one way.
Winner: Wyatt Family
New Day Vs Uso’s Vs Lucha Dragons
This is one of the few matches with build, and watching the New Day try to avoid all contenders has been brilliant, and they continue to be the most entertaining thing on WWE television each week. While the Lucha Dragons are fun, Sin Cara is to prone to massive bothces to carry the gold here and the Uso’s are only just back together, so i dont see a switch coming. But i do see the New Day using the numbers advantage here to keep the gold.
Winner: New Day
Kevin Owens Vs Dean Ambrose
This should be the best match of the night, these two always deliver in the ring and the short bout between them at last months PPV was a great one. This could be really physical and should deliver a great spectacle to be watched. Im hoping we dont get a title switch here, but its looking likely with the recently looking strong booking of Ambrose, but one pop-up powerbomb could change everything.
Sheamus Vs Roman Reigns
This has been poorly booked since the beginning, and we all know that eventually the title will go to Reigns. Thats the current problem with the main event, were getting Reigns forced on us as the new and almost unbeatable babyface of the company- yet no one seems to want it. Sheamus has also been so badly booked over the last 12months that seeing him enter the PPV as champion just has you waiting for the title switch or the inevitable interference to get him disqualified. This match holds no real excitement for me and as a main event that really shouldnt be the case.
Winner: Roman Reigns
