Wednesday is almost upon us, and that means its time for more comic books to set our eyes upon. This week isnt a massively busy week for huge releases but there are some good ones making there way onto shelves; and with that being said here are my picks for the week.
All New, All Different Avengers #2
Official Synopsis: The Avengers are dead–long live the Avengers! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes–Captain America, Thor, Vision, and Iron Man–are living separate lives, not tied to any team–but when a threat from beyond the stars targets our world, fate draws them together once more, alongside Nova, Ms. Marvel, and Miles Morales a.k.a. Spider-Man!
Why its a Pick: This is Marvels flagship Avengers title post Secret Wars, and the first issue was a good read and exciting enough to get the series off to a good start. The coming together of the team was interesting and Falcon looked less like an elected leader and more like a man trying to make the most of a siutuation he fells internally uncomfortable with. Seeing Morales in the regular MU was also exciting as was the short tale featuring Miss Marvel and I’m hopeful this book will continue the same feel as the first one.
Totally Awesome Hulk #1
Official Synopsis: Get ready for the craziest Hulk story of the millennium as a kid genius decides he’s gonna be the best Hulk ever — and just possibly brings the entire Marvel Universe crashing down into chaos! Totally awesome beach day! Massive monster mayhem! She-Hulk and Lady Hellbender! Massive heart and ridiculous action brought to you by PLANET HULK writer Greg Pak and superstar artist Frank Cho! Is it possible for us to fit in one more exclamation point? YES!
Why its a Pick: What happened to Banner???? And Amadeus Cho as the the big green goliath? These are reasons enough to read this book, while the answers may not be given to us in the first issue they will most definitely be worth finding out about. Greg Pak always does a great job with the Hulk, so watching him take on this new (albeit im not sold on non-banner Hulk) tale should be exciting and full of action if Pak keeps his regular story telling game the same.
Black Science #18
Official Synopsis: The last surviving Dimensionaut delves deeper into the beating heart of the Godworld to uncover the secrets of the Eververse, and a lurking shadow of his own past.
Why its a Pick: Black Science returned last month with a huge bang from its hiatus and instantly jumped to the top of the science fiction related comic books again- the issue focusing on Grant McKay in the future from the last time we saw him, and with a repeatedly diminshing memory makes things exciting for sure. This book has never missed a beat and i dont see this cahninging any time soon- especially now the story has switched gears and gives us another new mystery and an intiguing plot line.
Book of the Week
Black Science steals it this week, its return was hot and I only see this continuing now the story has a new focus and some renewed vigour.
