Comic Book Picks 11th November’15

This weeks comic books releases are numerous and contain another round of new titles from Marvel’s ‘All New, All Different’ moniker. However what is worth reading this week? Well here are my top picks.

All New All Different Avengers #1

Official Synopsis: The Avengers are dead–long live the Avengers! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes–Captain America, Thor, Vision, and Iron Man–are living separate lives, not tied to any team–but when a threat from beyond the stars targets our world, fate draws them together once more, alongside Nova, Ms. Marvel, and Miles Morales a.k.a. Spider-Man!

Why its a Pick: Marvel’s flagship series returns under the new moniker and with a new team. Coud this be the shake up that the Avengers has needed so desperately to try to bring the team into the modern age- well I’m certainly hoping so and that the reason it here. I have great faith in both Mark Waid and Adam Kubert to bring the team to life and give them the level of attention the deserve and the kind of threats that only the Avengers can deal with, not to mention the explanation of Morales in the regular universe and on the Avengers team. This book should be huge and it should be exciting, so you should get on board now.

Batman #46

Official Synopsis: At last, Batman comes face to face with Gotham City’s deadly new villain, Mr. Bloom. With the fate of the city hanging in the balance, Batman reaches out to the one man who might be able to help him: Bruce Wayne!

Why its a Pick: Mr Bloom has been creepy as hell, and totally engrossing as  new villain for Gordon to deal with as his first real super villain under the Batman costume and the story telling of him adjusting to this has been superbly handled by Snyder. I don’t expect this to change here, but I am expecting an interesting dynamic between Gordon and the revived Bruce that should be well worth seeing and reading.

Secret Wares #7

Why its a Pick: This is the book that changes the entire Marvel landscape into what we are beginning to see now, and to not be on board with how this occurs and what happens to some of the favourite characters of the old universe would be a tragedy. Add to this the fact that the story telling within Secret Wars has been great and the use of Thanos at the end of the last issue was superb and this book should be on your must buy read as it feels like an important mini-series and these are truly few and far between these days.

Book of the week

Marvel’s flagship title takes it this week, as the team looks great and seeing them together and the dynamics between them all has me far to intrigued to pass this up.
