WWE Night of Champions Predictions

Night-of-Champions-2015Tonight is the WWE’s annual all titles must be defended night, and for the first time in a while at this event there are some matches I truly cant be sure of the outcome. We see Seth Rollins in action atleast twice and get to see the Divas title on the line in what could be a good matchup. But whos going to walk out with gold, well here are my picks.

The match card for the event is as follows;
Neville and The Lucha Dragons vs. The Cosmic Wastleland (Pre-show)
Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev
Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and a mystery partner vs. The Wyatt Family
Ryback vs. Kevin Owens (Intercontinental Championship)
The New Day vs The Dudley Boyz (Tag Team Championship)
Nikki Bella vs. Charlotte (Divas Championship)
Seth Rollins vs. John Cena (United States Championship)
Seth Rollins vs. Sting (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Neville & Lucha Dragons Vs Cosmic Wasteland

This feels like a really hastily thrown together match, however it does feature some good talent so should hold its own on the preshow easily. Given the odd build to this match, especially on Raw this week it feels difficult to pick a winner, and while I would normally go with the faces in this case it feels Stardust has had more focus and mic time since his Summerslam match so im going with a win for the Cosmic one and his newly hyped lackies.
Winner: Cosmic Wasteland

Ziggler Vs Rusev
This has to be the hardest storyline to watch on current WWE television, and that’s purely because everyone involved deserves better and can deliver more than soap opera level drama around cheating/not cheating partners and a weird love square. Rusev needs to be taken back to the monster heel he was before Cena (Cena totally killed this) and Ziggler needs a push that doesn’t focus on him stealing women’s hearts and then rubbing it in others faces. While this needs to end, im afraid with Lana out injured it’s not going to end just yet or at least until, she can return, so with that said there seems only 1ending.
Winner: Rusev

Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns &? Vs The Wyatt Family
WWE has done a good job of rebuilding Bray Wyatt during this run, despite him hardly winning anything. Harper always looks good in the ring and is a real dominant force and great worker in any tag team situation, and i expect Strauman to be a monster here again. So the Wyatts look good here for the win, however the Shield 2.0 have a mystery partner that has taken all the focus of this story and it would be odd for the team of Ambrose & Reigns to lose after this. But the big question is whom is the mystery partner? My money is on either Baron Corbin (personally hope not though) or Samoa Joe getting their main roster debuts to offset the monster in the latest Wyatt member. It’s safe to assume that either way the new man helps the team pick up the victory, which is a shame as the WWE need to get behind the Wyatts properly.
Winner: Shield 2.0

Ryback Vs Kevin Owens (Intercontinental Championship)

This match seems to have come from nowhere, but im not going to complain as the potential for seeing Owens leave with gold is too good to grumble about. However he is in there with the Ryback and WWE seem to be behind him, even if personally I cant see why. His title run has been marred with ‘ughhh feeling’ matches since he won the belt at Elimination Chamber and a short injury period- neither of these has helped elevate the belt. And when you add to this the odd confrontation between the two on Raw where it was clear Owens was well above Rybacks promo ability that it was embarrassing it feels the time is right to capitalise on the hot introduction of Owens and give him the gold. The match itself should be fun to watch, and should be hard hitting but im hoping we see a title change here and then Owens move on to feud with Cesaro in a best of 5 series. (I can dream right?!)
Winner: Owens takes his first main roster title

New Day Vs Dudley Boyz (Tag Team Championships)
Dudley Boyz returning was hot for the tag team division, but only if their used correctly and in the right spots. This feels like a good spot to use the Dudley Boyz in as New Day are the best of the limited tag team division and need a solid win over an established team to really build them as the big deal they should be. The Dudleyz are always entertaining and added alongside Xavier Woods &company have been amazing to watch in the segments on television and im pretty sure that their first encounter together on PPV will be just as entertaining, and the result here should be easy. New Day need to win here by any means, as putting the Dudleyz over kills the only legitimate tag team you have and that would be nonsensical. I see the 3man team using their numbers to secure the win and set up a rematch before the Dudleyz move on to someone else and New Day get a more recent and younger challenge.
Winner: Using the power of positivity New Day

Nikki Bella Vs Charlotte (Divas Championship)
This is the first real PPV title defense of the newly revamped divas division as part of the revolution, and it could well be a fresh start for the division. Now im going to be honest here and i hated the fact that the title match on Raw wasnt the main event given its history breaking moment, but if the swerve of Nikki retaining was for her to drop it tonight then im going to forgive it long term. Nikki will be going in with tons of heat given the Raw match end, and the stipulation plays against her brilliantly, so i see this being a good match as both competitors can work (Nikki has improved greatly in the last 12months) and should be looking to deliver on the biggest stage for any 1-1 Divas match post revolution.
Winner: Wooooooo Charlotte

Seth Rollins Vs John Cena (US Championship)
This is a difficult one to call, but should be a great match if its half as good as their SummerSlam effort. I’m really looking forward to seeing this one, but im nervous that the WWE is going to give the gold right back to Cena tonight and ruin the chance to have Rollins run everything for a while as right now that makes more sense. Id love to see these two go for 30+minutes of pure hard fought back and forth wrestling with some big spots and moments, before Rollins pulls of the big win and moves onto Sting. However im not sure thats going to happen here, and because inevitably all roads lead to Cena im going with a title change here.
Winner: John Cena im afraid

Seth Rollins Vs Sting (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

20150824_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_RollinsSting_01.0.0Sting should be nowhere near the gold, he’s 0-1 in the WWE and cant go long enough, well enough or convincingly enough in the ring to be this far up the card. Id have been happier if he was the Shields mystery partner and we got someone else here in this spot, but were stuck with Sting. Rollins will do some serious selling to make Sting look good, but im not sure it will work amazingly. At the end of the night even a beaten and worn out Rollins from Cena has to be victorious here as no other decision makes sense, i mean Sting as champion? Really, it cant happen in 2015.

Winner: Seth Rollins
