Comic Book Picks 24 September ’14

Wednesday is here after one more sleep, and that means that its brand new comic book day. So with that in mind here are my picks for the week

Harley Quinn: Futures End #1

Official Synopsis: Harley and The Joker make it legal at last! Follow the happy couple to their secret honeymoon spot, where it’s literally till death do they part!

Why its a Pick: This is a pick for one simple reason the wedding between Joker and Harley is sure to be explosive and entertaining if nothing else. Did anyone ever think this would actually occur with the way the Joker has always treated Harley, despite her continued desire and love to be treated like such. Add to this the fact no-one has seen the Joker since he fell to his fate in ‘Death of the family’ and this makes the book more intriguing as what has he been doing and how is he now mentally.

Saga #23

Official Synopsis: Betrayal.

Why its a Pick:  surely there is no need for me to explain this now- Saga has been one of the best books on the market since it debuted. And that isn’t set to change anytime soon based on the current story telling and the characters still have enough about them to seem fresh and exciting, and that’s without even mentioning the amazing artwork that is done by Fiona Staples on each and every issue.

Aliens: Fire and Stone #1

Official Synopsis: During a vicious xenomorph outbreak, terraforming engineer Derrick Russell leads a desperate group of survivors onto a rickety mining vessel. They hope to escape the creatures overrunning their colony–but they’ll face horrors both in space and on the strange planet they crash on. Ties in with the Prometheus and Aliens films!

Why its a Pick: This is pick for one reason it gives us a comic book back that is aimed and focused on the scariest space monsters ever invented. And based on the preview pages this doesn’t hold back from giving us what the Xenomorphs do best and that’s kill in gruesome ways, and who doesn’t want to see loads of that.

Pick of the Week:

There is no other option for the week- this book has me so intrigued
