Wednesday has always meant new comic book to me- atleast since the age of 10 and there is still no exception to this. So here’s what I think will be the best releases this week and why
The Squider #2
Official Synopsis: The Squidder steals back a slave for a local strong man, only to realize success with the job means upsetting the fragile balance of human power. With the aid of the very Squid cult he hates, he realizes there’s a new game afoot and an old war still worth fighting, while more powerful eyes finally start to take notice.
Why its a Pick: Ben Templesmith has always delivered on the creepy factor to his books, and he managed to succeed in that with issue one while managing to deliver a decent story, and that the bit I was least sure he could do. So for the reason that the art will be great and the story is intriguing this makes the picks this week.
Official Synopsis: Grayson digs deeper into the mysterious organization known as SPYRAL and learns more about his new partner – Helena Bertinelli!
Why its a Pick: Grayson’s first issue really delivered a varied story for the once ‘Boy Wonder’ and delivered a real change of pace that seemed more akin to a spy series with a top-notch acrobat we all love than a superhero tale. However the intrigue as to what is happening with both SPYRAL and Helena is enough to keep me hooked- and when you add to that some nice artwork, you can’t ask for much more from a comic book.
Harbinger: Omega’s #1
Official Synopsis: “It matters not how man dies, but how he lives.”
The team has been shattered and a teenage Renegade lies dead – a victim of the Harbinger Foundation led by omega-powered psionic Toyo Harada. This is the story of what happens next. Out of the ashes of Harbinger #25, find out what happens when the full extent of Harada’s secret empire is exposed to the public, and just the how the surviving members of the Renegades recover from a catastrophic loss that has changed their lives… their team… and their destinies forever.
Why its a Pick: Valiant has one of the best comic-verses at the moment, and one of the big reasons for that is how easy it is to jump into and how good the stories are right now. Harbinger has always been one of their strong books and this is a great time to jump into the series, with a new number one issue (of sorts) so do yourselves a favour and get in their now.

Harbinger squeezes out the competition for looking to usher in a new and exciting chapter in a great series.
