Pixar does Star Wars?

20140123-101830.jpgWhen Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars many felt it was only a matter of time before Pixar managed to to get their infamous hands on the beloved franchise, and it appears that that time may be arriving sooner than anyone thought. Could you imagine a Pixar imagined Chewbacca or  Han Solo, i personally feel it would be amazing, so lets look at what we know

Latino review have managed to grab the following information from an interview with Pixar recently:  Once the canon-purge is over and Episode VII is in production, there will be a whole universe of Star Wars related content to play in. We’ve heard about TV shows, new comics tie-ins (Marvel, of course), spin-off movies for particular characters and now, a Pixar film.

At this point, no idea what the size or shape of this film will be and given the long-view storytelling production model that is part of the Pixar brand, this could be a way off. However if like me you love the Pixar movies and the Star Wars universe you’ll be more than willing to wait for the opportunity to see an animated Han Solo giving us the kind of ‘I dont care’ attitude he’s famous for in animated form. What im really looking forward to seeing, is Yoda fighting in animation (Clone Wars was cool enough- animated) but Pixar should make this look amazing.

This wouldn’t be the first foray into animation for the series, considering the terrifying Ewoks and Droids cartoons, the popular Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network and the much cooler Clone Wars shorts by Genndy Tartakovsky.

Knowing Pixar’s track record and the ripe stories that could come from the Star Wars universe, you can’t help but get excited for such news, so here’s hoping that in a time not too far far away it arrives in our cinemas.
